Wow over 120 for Hannon.

I get the feeling that a few of those will offer poor value and be over-bet on by the Thommo followers who blindly back them in the first race on the card at Windsor evening meetings. Am I right?

Hi Neil,

Yes, he is a brilliant trainer but difficult to get a handle on his debutantes. Sure Thommo will love the Windsor candidates...lol. Hannon, in recent years, has attained about a 10% win rate on debut but juveniles priced 13/2 & less attained about at 22% win rate. Statistics for juveniles on their second start when priced 13/2 & less are around 28% and fair place claims. I agree that many are under priced. He is a difficult trainer to assess in ways but clearly the winners are aplenty. Looking forward to the new season.

Regards,
Jason

Jason he certainly is interesting.

I just ran a report on R Hannon 2yo, 1st time out, SP between evens and 11/4, not A/W

Since 2004 there were 40 runners giving
16 winners
40.0% win strike rate
108.5% Win Return% on SP

27 placed selections
67.5% place strike rate
101.1% Place Return% on SP

Hi Neil,

You can't fault stats like that. To attain a win percentage of that level with debutantes is very impressive. They will be firing in the winners.
