Monday's Thoughts

2:20 Southwell
A poor race and Top Care must take all the beating if coping with this step up to a mile.

2:40 Kempton
A few in this with ability. Zain Shamardal was almost walking in the final furlong at Salisbury on extreme going over a mile. This 7f should see him in a better light. A juvenile held in quite high regard by the Meehan stable, and one with place claims today. Laajooj - trained by Michael Jarvis - has been well entered this season and makes a belated debut. There is money for this 150,000gns buy and Jarvis has done remarkably well with his youngsters on their first start this season. With a few experienced/talented two-year-olds in opposition, it would be a good performance to win this at the first time of asking and others are more favoured. Jaridh has shown ability and drops in distance by two furlongs. Difficult to know whether this will suit or not and he could struggle to go the early pace. Splash Point has run two sound races and another with place claims. Deny is a lovely-looking colt and wasn't hard pressed last time, but needs to find more.

4:30 Leicester
With heavy ground conditions there may be a few surprise results but hopefully not in this race. Show Rainbow is a progressive sort and run well on both her last starts and should have fair win and place claims.
