Thursday's Thoughts

2:40 Yarmouth
No strong views on this race although Cadore and Tanjung Agas are worth watching. Both have a number of group entries and it wouldn't be a surprise to see better performances with that initial experience. The latter trained by Michael Jarvis was fancied on debut and ran hopelessly and looks far from straightforward, hence blinkers being applied today. Definitely a watching race but interesting nonetheless.

3:00 Pontefract
As far as the betting is concerned this is a two-horse race. Valerius Maximus has an element of ability. Old Master Expert looked a talented juvenile on debut but disappointed on his second start and hasn't been seen since the end of May. Bell's two-year-old has the form to win this with ease but such an absence is a concern. The favourite of these two will most likely win.

5:25 Wolverhampton
A restricted auction race and most have shown moderate ability bar the favourites. Winged Valkyrie will be a short price but should take all the beating. This daughter of Hawk Wing was given an easy introduction and fancied to run a big race at Epsom. This turning track is likely to suit as she travels well. Hills will probably employ front running tactics and take some catching.
