4:10 Salisbury (28th June)

Quite a competitive race for an auction stakes and fair prize money on offer.

Orpen Grey is fancied in the betting after an easy win at Warwick. I was disappointed by the performance of Admin that day and wonder if the form has much too it. At relatively short odds I would rather watch.

Harry Dunlop seemed to hold Practitioner in high regard after his win at Salisbury. This gelding may be better suited to 7f in time. The form of that debut is certainly not of the highest level and improvement is needed.

Yer Woman is an interesting filly. She looked to have little chance when outpaced at Windsor last time but made up a terrific amount of ground in the final furlong to win quite well. This step up to 6f will be in her favour and she has a opportunity to progress.

Daniella De Bruijn has run with credit and may be of interest at speculative odds.

A watching race.

Race review: 'Orpen grey won this in the style of a high-class juvenile, going clear in the final two furlongs. Not much distance between the place horses, which are generally auction maiden standard, rather than stakes. Dascombe will be making plans for this grey colt.'
