6:35 Sandown (28th May)

A few big guns out for this listed race over 5f.

Monsieur Chevalier is making a reputation with three wins. A colt with size and scope he is progressing his way towards Royal Ascot, but each time it is getting a little harder with classier opposition. Hannon's two-year-old will be all the rage and will take some beating.

Of the others Raine's Cross made a pleasing debut win at Bath and the form of that race has been franked a few times. Clearly Winkworth's juvenile will have to be a talent to beat the favourite but it isn't beyond the realms that he is a classy sort.

High Spice is one of two fillies to compete and she will have her followers. A big, strong type she will not look out of place with the colts and could be capable of running a big race.

Of the rest, many are very capable, but they will do well to beat Hannon's.

A watching race.

Race review: 'Another step along a successful two-year-old career for Hannon's impressive colt, Monsieur Chevalier. His strength in finishing a race will see him well at Royal Ascot. Star Rover bounced back from a slightly deflated performance at Goodwood and ran extremely well. He is a similar level to Archers Road and both capable horses. Raine's Cross was outpaced by a field of speedy types and made impressive headway all too late. This colt will certainly be seen to his best over 6f.'
