2:10 Wolverhampton (11th May)

An intriguing maiden auction fillies' race. Diamond Laura is certainly capable of running a big race here but the high draw is a concern and may be difficult to overcome. Anjomarba is held but has a better draw today. Avonvalley has speed and has a chance here. Victorian Art ran okay on debut but that wasn't a great race and it has it to prove. I get a feeling Above Limits is liked but draw ten is a disadvantage as is her inexperience.

Race review: 'With three non-runners and a brisk start, Diamond Laura and Above Limits managed to negate their high draws and led at the first bend. Evans' filly is all heart and and very consistent juvenile. After gaining a slight lead, the line come just quick enough as Avonvalley put down a determined challenge in the last half furlong finishing with some purpose after suffering interference on a number of occasions. Above Limits ran a superb race on debut and you get the feeling connections were expecting a win today. This was a strong auction maiden, especially for fillies, and the second and third should be winning soon. Anjomarba was made to look rather slow but in a normal contest this filly will have her say.'
